Manufacturing Process & Capability

Complete process chain — from primary melt to final packaged product — under one AS9100D quality system

01

Melting VIM / VOD / VAR / ESR

Primary melt via Vacuum Induction Melting (VIM) or VOD. Aerospace and critical grades re-melted via VAR (Vacuum Arc Remelting) or ESR (Electroslag Remelting). Achieves ultra-low C, S, P levels with controlled non-metallic inclusion content. VIM+VAR melt practice mandatory per AMS 5629 (PH13-8Mo) and AMS 5659 (15-5PH).

02

Forging 3,000T Fast Forge Press

Multi-pass open-die forging on 3,000-ton hydraulic fast-forging press. Forging reduction ratio ≥ 4:1 eliminates center porosity and develops homogeneous wrought microstructure. Produces billets, bars, rings, and disc forgings up to Ø800 mm / 2,000 kg. All forging parameters logged and retained per AS9100D.

03

Hot Rolling & Drawing Rolling Mill

Computer-controlled hot rolling mill produces round bar, flat bar, and coil in precise dimensional tolerances. In-line temperature monitoring ensures consistent microstructure and surface quality. Cold drawing and wire drawing available for small-diameter product forms per ASTM A580.

04

Heat Treatment Automated Furnace · AMS 2750E

Fully automated heat treatment furnaces with calibrated thermocouples and data-logging per AMS 2750E (Pyrometry). Temperature uniformity ±5°C (TUS-surveyed). All standard aging conditions — H900 through H1150M — performed in-house with full temperature charts included in documentation.

05

Finishing CNC Turn · Grind · Peel

CNC turning centers, centreless grinding machines, and roller-die peeling lines deliver close-tolerance bright bar. Surface roughness Ra ≤ 0.8 µm (ground), Ra ≤ 3.2 µm (peeled/turned). Straightness ≤ 0.5 mm/m standard; precision ≤ 0.2 mm/m. Cut-to-length sawing ±1 mm.

06

Inspection & Testing QC Lab · NDT · OES Spectro

Chemical: OES optical emission spectrometry per heat + wet chemistry verification. Mechanical: Tensile per AMS 2370 / ISO 6892; Rockwell & Brinell hardness; Charpy impact at room temp and −40°C. NDT: 100% Ultrasonic Testing (UT) per AMS 2630 / ASTM A388 for aerospace grades; Eddy Current (ET) for bar/wire. Dimensional: CMM, laser micrometer.

07

Packaging & Dispatch Export Ready

Each item tagged with heat number, lot/batch number, grade, condition, and dimensions. MTR (EN 10204 3.1) generated per heat. VCI export packaging applied. Full documentation package — MTR, UT report, HT chart, CoO, invoice, packing list — compiled and dispatched with each shipment.

Our Fushun facility operates as one of China's largest specialty steel production bases, with annual capacity exceeding 50,000 metric tons of alloy and special steels. The production line is equipped with 3,000-ton hydraulic fast forging presses, fully automated data-logging heat treatment furnaces, and a dedicated aerospace-grade inspection laboratory operating under AS9100D.

For critical aerospace and defense applications, VIM+VAR double-melt material is available with full AMS certification. Melting records, forging parameter logs, and heat treatment charts are retained for a minimum of 10 years and are available for customer quality audits.

Industry Applications

PH stainless steel solving critical material challenges across global industries

✈️

Aerospace & Defense

17-4PH H900 and PH13-8Mo H950 are the primary choices for aircraft structural fasteners, landing gear actuator pins, missile airframe components, and hydraulic actuators. Meets AMS 5643, AMS 5629, MIL-S-81506, and Boeing/Airbus material specifications. DFARS-compliant documentation available.

🛢️

Oil & Gas

17-4PH H1025 and H1150 conditions meet NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 hardness limits for sour service. Widely used for downhole tool mandrels, valve stems, pump shafts, subsea connectors, and wellhead components. H1150M condition provides maximum SCC resistance for the most aggressive environments.

🔬

Medical Devices

17-4PH and 15-5PH in H1025/H1150 provide the corrosion resistance, machinability, and biocompatibility needed for surgical instrument shafts, orthopedic device tooling, and dental components. Semi-non-magnetic in solution-annealed condition. Compliant with ASTM F899 for surgical instrument materials.

Marine & Offshore

17-4PH H900 delivers the ideal combination of high strength (>1310 MPa UTS) and corrosion resistance for seawater pump shafts, valve stems, deck hardware, and subsea fasteners. Significantly stronger than 316L at comparable corrosion resistance. H1150 recommended for prolonged saltwater immersion service.

⚗️

Food Processing & Chemical

H1150 and H1150M conditions provide the optimal combination of ductility, toughness, and corrosion resistance for food-grade conveyor shafting, agitator components, and pumps in acidic media — delivering strength and corrosion performance that exceeds standard 316L stainless.

Power Generation

17-4PH is widely used in turbine blade roots, pump shafting, and valve bodies in conventional and nuclear power plants. Custom 465® and PH13-8Mo are selected for components requiring >1450 MPa UTS combined with exceptional fatigue life in steam and high-pressure hydraulic environments.

Quality Assurance

Certified, traceable, and independently verified — because your critical application demands complete confidence in material data
