AM355 Heat Treatment
Solution Treatment
Heat to 1010-1065°C (1850-1950°F), hold for adequate time depending on section size, then cool rapidly. Oil quenching or air cooling may be used depending on section thickness and required properties.
Sub-Zero Treatment
Cool to -73°C (-100°F) or lower for 3 hours minimum. This treatment transforms retained austenite to martensite and is essential for achieving maximum strength and hardness.
Aging Treatment
