1.4003 X2CrNi12 Ferritic Stainless Steel

1.4887 is an alloy known as X10NiCrSiNb35-22. It is an austenitic heat-resisting steel with a density of 8 g/cm³. This steel exhibits good oxidation and scale resistance, as well as good mechanical properties with high strength at elevated temperatures. The chemical composition of this steel includes carbon (C) up to 0.15%, silicon (Si) up to 2%, manganese (Mn) up to 2%, nickel (Ni) between 33% and 37%, phosphorus (P) up to 0.03%, sulfur (S) up to 0.015%, chromium (Cr) between 20% and 23%, and nitrogen (N) up to 0.11%. The mechanical properties of this steel include a tensile strength of 500 MPa, minimum yield strength of 270 MPa, proof strength of 270 MPa, and minimum elongation at fracture of 40%1. The Brinell hardness of this steel is 200 HB1. It has a maximum application temperature for air of 1100°C.
